What will a dog do when sprayed by a skunk?

Dogs skin is extremely sensitive so the best thing to do is get a solution from your local vet. There is such a thing for skunk odor.

A dog will not get hurt if they are sprayed by a skunk. The only way to get the smell out of the fur is to give them a bath in tomato juice.It makes a mess but it works well.

Try this. It works much better than tomato juice and it's not as messy:

1 Quart of 3 percent Hydrogen Peroxide (costs about $2.00)
1/4 Cup Baking Soda
1 Teaspoon of Dish Soap (breaks up the oils in the skunk spray... the baking soda and peroxide take care of the smell).

This will fizz when mixed so use it right away. It will explode if you try to store it, so make only what you will use. You can always make more if you need it.

Use like a shampoo. Work into the dog's coat thoroughly, but be careful of the dog's eyes. Use a wash cloth around the eyes. Rise thoroughly.

This works great and it is really cheap to make. One application de-skunked a dog hit at point blank range!!!
