Answer
Well it is hard to say what a map would look like today if the south had won the American Civil War because that would be recreating history, but as long as we are recreating history we mine as well do it the most logical way witch would probably be back in 1863. From the start of the civil war General Robert E. Lee and the army of northern Virginia had won most of the battles they had been in from the start of the civil War in 1861, and the real actual accounts or plans of Robert E. Lee were to attack the army of the Potomac led by General George Meade at Gettysburg in July. If he won, he was going to place a document on President Abraham Lincolns desk suggesting a cease in the war and that the confederate States succeed from the union for good. Luckily that did not happen because the South lost at Gettysburg. Assuming they did and that Lincoln did surrender than The south would probably have controlled all of the Southeastern and southwestern states plus Pennsylvania because that?s were the battle of Gettysburg was fought. Life as we know it would be much different. And there would be fur countries in North America rather than three. Ian Hunter Cassel 13 years old Jeffersonville Pa

The Eastern half of what we now know as the United States would be divided into two countries: The United States of America (Union states) and the Confederate States of America (Confederate states). The boundary between the two is somewhat unclear to me because of border states like Kentucky. Which country would border states have joined? Maybe the border states would have formed their own union?
Then of course we have to take into consideration, the western states. They could have gone either way or perhaps merged into a separate country. Or we may have had several smaller countries like you find on other continents.
There may have been Native American countries and part of the US as we know it could now be part of Mexico and even Canada.
Of course, other European countries may have used the division of our country to lay claim to lands out west.
The possibilities boggle the mind. There are so many scenarios that could have played out.
I'm no expert; these are just my own personal theories. But since no one can really be sure "what might have been", my theories, and yours, are as good as anyone's.
At the very least we'd have been divided into 2 countries.
For other interesting, and sometimes farfetched, alternatives, there are plenty of novels available out there specifically about alternate history covering just about every war or turning point in history. Check out sites like Amazon.com or militarybookclub.com. Or use your favorite search engine and use a phrase like "alternate history". You can narrow your search by including search terms like "Civil War".
