You did not emphasize if you're arguing "For" or "Against" Darwin's Theory of Evolution. If you're arguing "for", then you have to read the latest developments like Genetics, etc. If you're arguing "Against", then you need more than luck; You need a miracle.

  • To say a miracle would be needed to argue against evolution shows that one has not studied the issue of origins from all viewpoints, and has accepted what is actually an unproven theory as a fact.
Whether you are arguing for or against the Theory of Evolution, you need to read all you can about the viewpoint you are arguing, as well as the opposing viewpoint. You can find information on all sides of the issues concerning how our universe came about and the history of the earth, some that support evolution and some that support creation, intelligent design, and perhaps other theories. You can also look for studies (be careful, though, less-than-honest people can "fix" studies to show anything they want them to show), information that negates or supports things given as "facts," etc. Whatever viewpoint you take, it is important you understand that while evolution has become accepted by many as fact, it is still an unproven theory. Support can be found for other theories as well. Deb See the Related Link for "Creationist" to the bottom for the answer. See the Related Link for "Miracle" to the bottom for the answer.
Law of AbioGenesis - life only comes from life not non-life. This law discovered by Pasteur well over 100 years ago has has no known exception like the law of gravity. Even the simplest unicellular life is incredibly complex and cannot arise from non-living chemicals. According to this law molecules to man evolution cannot even begin. The Fossil Record Darwin acknowledged the many gaps in the fossil record in his day but assumed that these would be filled when more fossils were discovered. But the missing links are still missing. Only around 250,000 fossil types have ever been found less than a quarter of what is on earth today. But evolution requires many intermediate forms as a reptile changes into a bird etc so it would predict many more species in the record. They are just not there except a few rare and doubtful cases. Many species remain unchanged through many millions of years of alleged evolutionary history. This is not what evolution would predict either. Frauds Exposed Most recently peppered moths stuck on trees and Haeckel's false embryo drawings (which incidentally are still presented as fact in the school system in one state in Australia) not to mention Piltdown man and others. True science does not require deliberate fraud to underpin it because the truth will always win out. Information Theory and Modern Genetics No plausible explanation exists as to how all the complex information in living organisms arose by chance. Genetic studies show definite limits to variability eg all the varieties of dogs are still dogs and are interfertile. For evolution to have occurred there must be an increase in information as the instructions for a scale to change into a feather are copied. Recombination does not create new information nor do mutations. First and Second Laws of Thermodynamics Evolution is contrary to both of these and they have no known exception.
