What would cause a car to quit when giving it gas or stall when driving or losing power while driving?

I am having the same problem with my car... I push on the gas and somtimes my car will just cut off on me like the fuel wasnt being delivered, I am thinking it could be alot of issues, spark plugs need to be changed or the wires and distributor or the o2 sensors but that's just what I ve been told
