What would cause a clunking sound on a 1999.5 pathfinder near the right front wheel every time you turn the steering wheel left or right I have crawled underneath it and don't see any obvious wear?

[Edit]

cv joint is going bad. There is a rubber boot around it so you won't see it. It may just need more grease packed in there. But if it has been doing it for long it may be worn down and need replaced.
