What would cause a squeaking noise when turning the steering wheel of a 1996 Lincoln Towncar? In: Lincoln Town Car |
[Edit] |
Answer
the buttons and horn and stuff on the steering wheel slide on electrical contact strips behind the wheel...
theres a coat of lube on this that can wash off with time and lots of Amor All down behind the steering wheel..
A little WD-40 sprayed into the switches and behind the wheel will probably fix this...
Good luck..
also read the section on replacing the Horn Ring in a manual to get a picture in your head..
Everyone should have a manual for their vehicle, and the local library should have a professional shop manual available to make copies of for FREE...make the time to take time to read up on your vehicle, and work like the PRO'S! Good luck :)
