What would cause a strange wobbling sensation between 40-45 mph?

If this is a full sized RWD Ford car or a Jeep or a GM with TH-440, you may be looking at a torque converter shudder. Bring the vehicle to a reputable transmission shop for a road test and advice.

If this is a Mopar minivan from the early to mid 1990s, check for any available updates to the TCM programming.

Answer
