On a 1998 Ford Windstar ( 3.0 and 3.8 liter V6 engines ) It uses a 4 speed automatic / overdrive transaxle ( transmission )
Both the 3.0 liter and 3.8 liter V6 engines offered in a 1999 Ford Windstar have ( 6 engine cylinders )
where is a transmission sensor that may cause an 02 ford ranger 4.0 liter to feel as though it may be skipping during acceleration?
In a 1998 Ford Windstar : There were 2 engine sizes offered from the factory : A 3.0 liter V6 engine and the 3.8 liter V6 engine
It could have either the 3.0 liter " Vulcan " V6 engine or the optional 3.8 liter V6 engine in the 2000 Ford Windstar LX
The 3.8 liter V6 engine in a 2003 Ford Windstar has a timing CHAIN
either the distibutor cap or the ignitoin coil, but check to see if the coil wire is arcing on the transmission dipstick tube!!
The 1998 Ford Windstar Owner Guide shows ( 4.5 quarts with engine oil filter change ) for the 3.0 liter and 3.8 liter V6 engines
Either the 3.0 liter " Vulcan " V6 engine or the 3.8 liter V6
Every Windstar ever built was equipped with a V6 engine (3.0 or 3.8 liter), so the answer is 6.
On a 1998 Ford Windstar : The 3.8 liter V6 engine ( and the 3.0 ) has a timing CHAIN
