A purple ice cream. Or a number of underlying conditions, such as a lack of oxygen being circulated throughout the blood stream. If the lips appear purple or dark blue, the patient is most likely having a difficult time breathing, or the patients lungs are functioning at a suboptimal level; meaning the lungs are not working correctly. If the patient suffers from respiratory disease or illness this may be a sign of the condition. Either way, I suggest they seek medical treatment immediately or contact their primary care physician.
It has happened in sad, serious, extreme cases.
