STARTING WITH THE HT4100 CADILLAC MOTORS IN 1982 DEVILLE ALL THE WAY UP TO AROUND THE 1990S 4.1 ENG 4.5 4.6 4.9 CADS HAD A SP PELITS THAT YOU HAD TO BY FROM CADILLAC THAT HELP COOLANT FROM GETTING IN THE MOTOR IN OTHER WORDS LIKE A RADIATOR STOP LEAK BUT IN THIS CASE BLOCK SO EVERYTIME YOU CHANGE YOU COOLANT YOU WERE TO ADD THESES PELITS ,,CALL YOU CADILLAC PARTS DEPARTMENT THEY ARE CHEAP AND THEY WILL KNOW JUST WHAT YOU NEED .....WY THEY LEAK,,, ALUMINUM BLOCK FOR LESS WAIT AND STEEL SLEEVES FOR THE PISTON WHERE PUT TOGETHER USEING SEALS. GOOD IDEA MAKING THE MOTOR ALOT LESS HEAVY SAVING FUEL EXC. BUT YOU HAD TO KEEP THE PELITS IN THE COOLING SYM. JUST LIKE THE OWENNER MANUAL SAID
