John Deere 38 Snow Thrower snow blower is the model tractor that will fit the craftsman 40 model 842.240510. The model will fit perfectly and will not need any fabrication.

You can download manuals for some Craftsman equipment on Sears website. You will need the model number. Go to: http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/index.action?sid=PSHx20080114x00001aand put in the model number. If there is a manual available you can download it there.
Snow BLOWeR. Idk. I'll give you a hint. A moose walks backward at night but a buzzers sings loudly on a power line
There probably is but I would need the model number beginning with 143 to look it up. It may be covered by other things, but it should be on top of the engine.
The owners manual is available online for both the craftsman model and the tecuseh engine. The Tecumseh owners manual recommends SAE30 for operating at 40F or higher. It recommends SAE10 or SAE 5W30 for -20F to 40F. It recommends SAE 0W30 for 40F down to temperatures below -20F.
Railroad Model Craftsman was created in 1933.
I have the same model with the engine oil reccomendations sticker still on it. It reccomends a 5W-30 for most temps. In extreme cold (below 0 F) use 0 weight.
