Bay State Arms produced firearms from the 1870's to the 1880's. Most of the shotguns were produced from 1890-1910, by a different company under the Bay State name. The original Bay State Arms Company was taken over by Hopkins & Allen about 1888 but was still actively producing rifles until 1895, and Harrington & Richardson bought the right to the trade name in 1907. Harrington & Richardson made shotguns under this name from 1908 until 1942. .

Since you do not say, whether your Harrington & Richardson is a pistol, rifle or shotgun and you do not show a letter prefix to the serial number, I can only give you limited information based on a Model 48 Topper Single Shot Shotgun which was manufactured for a period of 14 years between 1943 and 1956. I hope this helps, until you can supply more information on your shotgun.
Made by Harrington & Richardson as their Model 120, it began production in 1941. In 1942, they stopped production of civilian firearms due to WW 2. Only made for 2 years.

Harrington & Richardson company was in business for over 100 years, made millions of firearms- and was restructured under a slightly different name, and still makes firearms today. Value of ANY gun is based on exact make, model, caliber, and condition. You gave us none of those.
