Dogs think poop is a treat actually - it is not at all abnormal although for humans this seems disgusting. It is not necessarily bad for them (like it might be for humans) but just kind of not desirable for owners. Obviously, the best thing to do is to keep them entertained with more desirable healthy treats, and keep them out of situations where they can do the former. For dogs, this really is a normal reaction. Be nice to your pets :)

∙ 13y agoIt is common, so you could probably say it was normal, but by doing so, he could be ingesting serious disease germs or various worms that live in its gut or heart, or brain.
So it is not a good idea to let your pet eat feces.

∙ 15y agoI've heard about dogs doing this, and most of the time it comes down to the fact that they tend to eat their own feaces because there is a lack nutrition in their diet. I would recommend taking your dog to a vet just in case.
