They retire after about a year or so unless the pattern sells well. Java Blue has been around for three years and is still not slated for retirement. They release new patterns four times a year and retire old patterns about four times a year. You can get good deals on retired patterns on their website while still available and once a year they have an outlet sale in Fort Wayne, IN. Next year's sale is April 28th through May 1st, 2010.
