Yes, there are smaller babies that can be considered runts. They are just a tad smaller at birth. They may not fight enough for a teat at nursing time and thus do not grow as fast as the other babies. Make sure these little ones get alone tome with mom so they can get their fair share of the milk.
Usually, because, I think, a queen's (a mother cat's) body gives birth to whichever kitten is big enough to have trouble going through the queen's version of the vagina. Therefore, I believe you are right when you think a runt of a cat litter usually comes out last.
sometimes the mother sometimes kills it cause she doesn't have enough food or it dies because it is small but sometimes it survives and grows up being the smallest of the litter.
yes. because the runt is the last puppy that comes out... ; - \
I dont know either I was actually on here trying to figure that out! Have you figured it out yet???
Well usally the first one will be the smallest but in my dogs second litter the last was the smallest.
The boy scouts found a litter of starving kittens in the park last week? The boy scouts found a litter of starving
my cockapoo has had two litters and is on the third and last. the first litter was when she was 1 1/2 years old she had 4 all boys. the second litter she had 6 three girls and one boy. one puppie was born small and the other one was born with green stuff on the sac. the vet said the reason could have been a long labor and the stress kills it on the way out. all puppies are healthy . so i would say 4-6 for us. in the last few weeks you can feel them in mama.
it should be fine to have a second litter as long as she is well looked after. you may also want to check with your vet, though.
if one of the female dogs touched the others pups the pup would smell like the other female, its mother would scent the smell (since dogs have good noses) and she would think its not her pup and kill it

I know of a litter of 16 puppies (14 survived) born on the Mornington Peninsula, Victoria Australia August last year.

Yes, that's fine as long as you're careful.
5 times 6
Yes, they can. Usually when a bitch has a very large litter, the last one out can be deprived of oxygen during a long labor and delivery, and brain damage results. A crowded pup may have other malformations as well, such as a withered limb.
Well, it really depends. You have to look at their pedigree and find out if anyone in their family has long hair. Such as the grandpa or grandma. 2 short hair dachsunds had 4 puppies. 3 were short haired and one was long. Their next litter was 2:2 and their last litter was 2:2 again. The dads parents both had long hair.
