According to the book "Prairieville USA," (a history of Arlington Heights), the election to become a village was held on January 18, 1887. It adds: Results of that election showed: For incorporation...............126

Against incorporation..........34

It goes on to note that an election for village officials was held on April 19, 1887 and that the board met for their first meeting on May 2, 1887.
