Paris Belt (and Garter) moved from Chicago to a location on River Road in Des Plaines, Illinois. This structure was designed by the architecture/engineering firm of A. Epstein & Sons at about the same time they worked on the Kitchens of Sara Lee facility in Deerfield and used a similar motif of an elevated office structure in front of a large box. The building had a tall "golf tee" type of water tank painted with the letter "P." It was a familiar sight when looking north at the Touhy Avenue toll plaza on I-294.
When this sewing plant closed down the building was sold to Xerox and a big "X" replaced the "P." For a few years a towel outlet company occupied the building, then it was torn down.
The site is currently under construction (spring 2011) for a new casino.
