Because three of his daughters died of typhoid fever, Louis Pasteur did try to find a cure for this illness and other Infectious Diseases. However, he did not find a cure for it. Louis Pasteur is famous for inventing the process of pasteurization and principles of vaccination. He was born in 1822 and died in 1895.

Louis Pasteur infected the rabbits, deliberately. When the rabbits died of rabies, their brains are dried for 5 to10 days. Vaccine was prepared from this tissue. It contained the inactivated virus. 18 people died of rabies, due to defective vaccine, in initial days of vaccination.
