His first solo was "Got to be there" but he wasn't really a solo artist yet. He was still singing with brothers in 1971. When he and his brothers switched to Epic Records. they did a couple of albums.
Michael Jackson began his solo career in 1979, with his first album he did with Quincy Jones "Off the Wall".
During this time he was also still with the Jackson Five, although he did not do much with them.
He didn't leave The Jacksons until after the Victory tour in 1984. His last studio recording with his brothers was the song "2300 Jacksons street" in 1989.
