World War I actually had its first factor of causing the war started when the League of 3 Emporers (Germany, Russia and Austria-Hungary) split and formed the alliance systems between A-H and Germany. This then made the camps and 'sides'. The naval building race between 1905-1915 this made contreversy between GBR and Germany in the building of the Dreadnought. World War I mainly started in 1914 with the assassination of Archduke Ferdinand, and ended in 1918 with the Treaty of Versailles.
