Louis XIV of France was famous for his extravagent highly decorated heels,often painted red as a stus of wealth.Eventually women started to wear high heels.The fashion for high heels for both sexes petered out at the beginning of the 19th Century.
The revival in womens high heels began towards the end of the 19th Century.Since then high heels have generally been worn by women,although things like platform boots of the 70s & mens 'cuban' heels have drifted in & out of fashion.
At present,theres been a resurgence in womens ultra high heels & 'Stilletos' popular in the 60's & 80's, are in vogue once more.Christian Leboutin is famous for his high heeled shoe designs.

In this way I can feel & understand how women may have problems with high heels. Some women don't have problems with high heels, and I say that's great for them!
