The Origins of the Pink RibbonThe pink ribbon has been an international symbol of breast cancer awareness for many years, making its debut in 1991 when the Komen Foundation handed them out to participants at the New York City Race for Breast cancer survivors.

A year later Charlotte Hayley, who battled breast cancer produced peach color ribbons. And a while after that it was decided to go with pink. Pink, in its many forms, is now 'the color' of breast cancer advocacy, awareness and survival.
