Although The Bible does not say how old John lived for, according to Ephesian tradition John was a very very old man when he died. If John was 25 when Christ died in 32AD, this would make him born 7AD, and as scholars put the date of John's book of Revelation at 96AD, he would have then been 89. If he died the next year it would make him at least 90 when he died: he could have been even older.

John 21

20 Then Peter, turning about, seeth the disciple whom Jesus loved [John] following;...

21 Peter seeing him saith to Jesus, Lord, and what shall this man do?

22 Jesus saith unto him, If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee? follow thou me.

23 Then went this saying abroad among the brethren, that that disciple should not die: yet Jesus said not unto him, He shall not die; but, If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee?

A:Apart from James and perhaps Judas, we do not know when or even how any of the apostles died. During the second century, various imaginative traditions arose to tell of the generally gruesome deaths suffered by each of the apostles. However, it was decided that the Book of Revelation, which is signed by someone called John, must have been written by the apostle John. This meant not only that John the apostle had to have a reason to go to Patmos, where we know the book to have been written, but he had to live long enough to write this clearly late book. The tradition that arose around John's death is that he was exiled by the Roman emperor to Patmos and that he lived well into the second century. However, most New Testament scholars do not equate John the apostle with John of Patmos and do not believe that he lived to such a great age.

We only know he died some time before Jesus, so I would say any time in the early 1st Century CE.
