The first volcano erupted as soon as Earth was formed billions of years ago, and humans obviously didn't exist then, so we had no name for it.

The first volcanic eruption that we currently have evidence for (in that these are the oldest volcanic rocks as yet discovered by man) occurred approximately 3.825 Billion years ago at a place known as Porpoise Cove on the shores of Hudson Bay in Northern Quebec in Canada.

Answer

Most likely the first ever volcanoes came into being billions of years ago when the surface of earth was covered in molten rock. If so it is even more likely that there was no singular "first" volcano more likely that hundreds or even thousands were created at the same time all around the earths surface.

The first recorded volcano was vesuoiuis in Italy in AD79

On the lighter side:This is a very interesting question and it has an equally interesting answer.

In the misty dawn of time, before there was recorded history, there was a tribe of enterprising and surprisingly intelligent people near the Euphrates river. The tribal leader was named Blarg and he was the kind of "take charge" person that one sees even today in many corporate structures. His most effective strategy was to beat mercilessly anyone who did not conform to his grunted command. In this way he rose to the leadership in surprisingly short order.

Because Blarg brooked no opposition, he had a most high opinion of himself. His taste in women was mainly centered upon cooking skills, and like most of his tribe, he took what he wanted from these women. Since most women were less strong than Blarg, they accepted his orders with fear if not good grace.

Ogg, another member of the tribe, had ambitions toward leadership of the tribe. Having seen that brute force was effective and knowing that he was no match in brawn to Blarg, he cast about for other ways to assume leadership. He had already made points with the ladies by introducing footwear and jewelry to the local economy and was well on his way to becoming an entrepreneur investigating the uses of sheep fur independent of the sheep hide. While this would later be known as "wool", at the time Ogg was busy inventing how to use the fur without the hide.

His new friend from another tribe, Gronk the chef, was interested in other enterprises such as the newly invented "brick"( see link below) and a very strange rock that would hold heat without constantly being in the fire. This rock was named "yron" by the ladies, and it had amazing properties. If one found one of the "yron" rocks and it had a flat side, one could cook the "y'egg" to a hardness never before possible. Since Gronk had learned that the "y'egg" wasn't particularly tasty while raw, this was a tremendous breakthrough and almost as popular a dish as the meat provided by Blarg.

Blarg of course had no interest in such things as his was the direct approach. He wanted to be fed and he knew how to kill local beasts for meat. food, fire and a woman was his idea of perfection, and he had no other reason to investigate what Ogg and Gronk were doing. This proved to be Blarg's undoing and it was a fatal mistake.

In their investigations of "yron", Gronk and Ogg went far afield of their usual habitat. It turned out that a journey of a couple of days took them to a very hot plain where this "yron" was readily available nearly at the surface of the ground. Simple scratching at the dirt yielded large quantities of this rock and a goodly part of them were mostly flat. Both men noticed that the rocks were always flat on the bottom as if they had fallen from a great distance above. Gronk immediately saw the implications of this; a nice collection of the rocks would bring prestige among the women and he could pick a likely mate from among the women who wanted the "yron" rocks. Ogg, being good natured, already had such a mate...one who had a taste for "shoes".

Back at the camp, Gronk was the hit of the party. The women did indeed want the "yron" rocks and there was a general clamor for the perceived rarity. Blarg immediately wanted in on the action and began to beat the hapless Gronk in an effort to make him reveal the location of the rocks. However, since two men can generally overcome one, Ogg came to Gronk's rescue and together they fought Blarg to a compromise. Since they knew where the "yron" was, they would take him (and only him) to find the valuable rocks. On the next morning they would set off.

Within this arid plain where the "yron" rocks were, there was a very strange hill. Gronk and Ogg had gone near the hill and found that the heat from inside the open center of the hill was immense. They could not stay near this opening very long and they had decided that it was just a place to avoid as it held no immediate value to them. However, the imperious Blarg, when he beheld this lone hill in the plain, wanted to investigate such a high place in a flat country. Gronk and Ogg reminded him that they were here to gather "yron" not explore the countryside.

But Blarg would not be deterred. He hiked to the top of the strange hill and beheld the seething mass inside. Being the take charge kind of guy he was, he marched much closer than Gronk and Ogg had done. While he was swelling with pride at the discovery of such a strange feature, he inhaled the gases of the hill and became overcome. Unfortunately his faint pitched him forward...and directly into the seething mass. His cries could be heard over the plain, but they were short lived and Gronk and Ogg were amazed. They had never, ever heard Blarg in pain.

Just at that moment, the critical mass inside the strange hill made the strange thing fountain with hot molten lava. Believing it was a beast fighting with Blarg and not wanting to get involved both Gronk and Ogg beat feet as fast as they could, back in the direction of home. Gronk and Ogg were sufficiently far away from it when the hot ash started falling. Being prudent, and very cowardly, they ran until the ash could not be seen and they had stitches in both their sides.

Reaching the camp of their tribe, they told the marvelous tale of how Blarg selflessly threw himself into the cauldron of the hill and saved them from the unexpected lava rain with his cries. In gratitude, the tribe named the new, strange formation "Mount Blarg". And so the name stuck and has remained to this day.

Unfortunately....the tribe intermarried with other tribes and their original tongue died out. So did the knowledge of exactly where Mount Blarg the first volcano to erupt, actually was.

So while we know that Mount Blarg exists, we don't know where it is or what name it goes by now.

I believe that it was not noted as volcano until the first one had erupted and then recorded.

The first recorded volcanic eruption is widely thought to have been the eruption of Vesuvius in 79 AD. However, the first actual recording may have been recorded in a painting on the wall of a house in an ancient village in Turkey. The picture depicts a twin peaked volcano eruptng ash and perhaps shows lava flows from the flanks and would have been made arount 6200 BC.

No one can tell you the first ever volcanic eruption because that would have occurred before recorded history. But, geologists believe the first volcanic eruptions occurred during the time that all the continents were together in one large continent named Pangaea. As the ocean floor separated, it began to pull land into the continents we know today. Before that completely occurred, though, the mountain range under the Atlantic Ocean (now along the eastern coast) had volcanic eruptions and earthquakes. The land in now Pennsylvania "folded" and created the Appalachian Mountains (and the other ranges in PA). At one time, the Appalachians are believed to have been taller and steeper than the Rocky Mountains in the West (which are much younger than the Appalachian Mountains). Over time, the Appalachian Mts became weathered and more rounded from erosion. Although there are no active volcanoes in Pennsylvania now, geologists believe that millions of years ago Pennsylvania had one or more active volcanoes which formed and deposited igneous rocks.

If you meant what is the name of the volcano that erupted first then there is no way of saying because the world is billions of years old so thousands of volcanoeswill have erupted before civilisation started and and recording of volcanic movement started.
