Delicate Arch is located in Arches National Park in Utah, USA. It is one of the most iconic and well-known natural arches in the world. The arch is made of Entrada sandstone and stands about 65 feet tall. It is a popular tourist attraction and is often photographed against the backdrop of the beautiful Utah desert landscape.
The tallest arch made by humans is the Gateway Arch in Saint Louis, at 190 meters. Landscape Arch in Arches NP is the tallest one there at 93 meters. Aloba Arch in Chad, Africa, is a natural arch of height 120 meters.
The two most famous features are Delicate Arch and Double Arch, the latter where "Indiana" Jones had one of his first adventures.
You can look around many places in Utah such as Little Cottonwood Canyon, Delicate Arch, Arches National Park, Deer Creek Reservoir, American Fork Canyon etc etc. Start your engine and go ahead.
Arches National Park is comprised of over 2,000 sandstone arches. Basically, these are rocks that have been eaten away by erosion, leaving an "arch" left. The most famous of the arches is Delicate Arch.
Utah has many unique natural features. Two of the most spectacular for me are Arches National Park and Bryce Canyon. In Arches National Park near Moab there arch stone formations that have been eroded away over thousands of years. It is really quite impressive. In Bryce Canyon, the entire canyon appears to be bright orange and yellow. There are spire formations called hoo-doos everywhere - another breathtaking scene.
