As early as 8 weeks but by 6 months if they haven't already they most likely are not going to stand. As above yes, at the moment, I have a Chihuahua pup. His name is Bandido, and he is 7 weeks of age, and he is showing the signs of his ears perking higher up. If you wish for them to begin to stand erect sooner. It is a good idea to lightly (not too hardly, or it will hurt them) masage the muscels below their ears. This helps the muscels to become stronger, to be able to lift their ears. But, its known, in some cases, after loosing their baby teeth on one side, or both. Their ears can droop back down. But dont fret, they will rise again. But, its sad to say, in some cases, some Chihuahua's ears never do stand up. But as I've said, masage them. And that WILL help them. Hope your's ears perk up ;) they sure are adorable once they do. ~Indi-
No...chihuahua puppies ears tend to flop over. As your puppy gets older the cartlidge in their ears will get stronger and your chihuahua's ears will stay up.
Nothing. That is perfectly normal! When we baught our Chihuahua she had floppy ears!Your chi's ears will stand up when the cartlidge in it's ears strengthens.
They will still stand up. i have one that is 9 Weeks old and hers stand all the time. i always touch them
Usually a heeler's ears will prick at about four to five months.
varies, but should be erect by 6 months
A chihuahua does not get over 6 lbs, somrtimes their ears won`t stand up all te until they are a little older
yess it iss my friend's chihuahua does the same its bcause you dont clean around its ears when you shower it .
They will eventually stand up on their own, although the exact age is different with every puppy. I have seen a few that had one ear stand up completely and the other ear stand up only part way. If you see this starting to happen you can massage the ear in an upright postition and it will help strengthen the ear and help it stand.

Because Santa put a spell on you and you turned into an elf! You have to make toys! my cat has pointy ears! He is an undercover elf! //////when dogs are puppies they usually have floppy ears but as they mature depending on the breed the ears will stand up and become pointy
When a chihuahua is young, the cartilage in its ears hasn't become strong yet. Depending on the day and the dogs behavior, the ears may or may not stand up. When the dog has reached a certain age (sometimes 6 months or more), its ears should permanentely stand up. Also if it has adopted a trait from one of its relatives, the ears might never stand up. So sometimes it's just genetics.
Then you would have a mixed breed/hybrid, or whatever you want to call it of a pomeranian and a chihuahua * I've seen them called Chi-Poms and Poo-Chis. Very cute!
