The more likely outcome is that the father would use this as the basis for a request to modify support.
You do not have to pay income tax if you do not have any income. Depending upon what you do, however, you may still have to pay sales tax, excise taxes, property taxes, etc.

You send in your child support payments regularly and on time.
You can't just stop, that would be breaking the court order and then they can stop you from leaving the state and you can even go to jail. If your income changes you have to go to court to have the child support modified.
