Transmissions can go bad for any number of reasons, but mostly because almost nobody ever changes their Transmission Fluid. It should be changed at least every 50,000 miles .
bad transmission?
The most common reason for a transmission to go bad is not maintaining it properly. Another cause is hot temperature. Heat can break down the fluid that protects the transmission causing it to fail.
Leaky transmission lines would cause the fluid level to drop and eventually cause the transmission not to shift and go.
