What would cause a 1994 Toyota SR5 to overheat only while driving over 60 MPH?

Radiator in need of cleaning or bad/stuck thermostat maybe. Check the fan clutch to make sure it is operative. The fan clutch doesn't engage until a certain temperature is reached; otherwise it is free-wheeling. It needs to engage in order to cool the radiator.

What if your 1985 Suzuki motorcycle was tipped over it will turn over but will not start?

Your engine is flooded so hold the throttle wide open and crank it over until you hear it start or fire then use the normal way you start it and you should be good to go.

Should one turn off the radio and air-condition before starting the car?

the compressor has a built in delay ( assuming that everything is working the way it's supposed to) so it is not engaged during starting and wont engage until a few seconds after.

How do you adjust idle speed on 1998 Chevy?

You can't. It is not adjustable. It is computer controlled. You need to have the engine scanned with an engine scanner. If I was you I would clean the throttle plate real good with an old tooth brush and carb. cleaner until it is shinny and clean. That may just fix your idling problem. UNLESS .... If it has been modified and replaced with a carb you can adjust your idle throttle with the screw located behind the throttle cable, left to increase throttle, right to decrease.

How do you adjust the timing on a 1988 Golf It keeps stalling if you don't keep the revs up while idling?

There is an adjusting screw on the throttle body, you need to dial the screw in slowly until you golf ideals at 900 to 1000 rpm. Try this first before you look at your timing.

Your 1987 reliant 2.5 started dying occasionally now it has no pulse to the injector it runs fine if you squirt gas into throttle body iwould appreciate any ideas?

Fuel pump????? If it's an injector problem you should run a diagnostic test to see what the computer has encountered. It could be quite minor but you'll never know until the diagnostic codes have been read.

What is wrong with car idling funny and rocking?

If you change your own oil it is easy to accidentally bump these off and not notice until your idling is affected. TEST IT: does your cruise control function properly?

Engine bogs down at high RPM Honda civic?

there is a secondary fuel injector on the throtle body, if you look just under the box with dpfi on the top you will see them. one is brown and one is green if memory serves me (its been about 3 years) the lower fuel injector should be to blame here. the problem is that the dual point is just what it implies two points in other words two fuel injectors. the car normally or at low rpm will run off of the primary injector until the ecu see's fit to engage the secondary injector. in my opinion the secondary injector is cloged, damaged, or unplugged. either that or you need a fuel filter. hope i could help.

How do you clean iac valve?

To clean the iac valve, you must remove your air intake induction pipes. Second if needed you may have to remove the hoses running from the radiator so that you have full view and access to your throttle body. Open you butterfly throttle and spray throttle body cleaner on a rag and wipe until clean. then locate your iac valve. once you have remove it and use the same throttle body cleaner to wipe the carbon and smut off of the point. Then clean the housing in which it goes back into. Be sure to carefully insert your iac valve and tighten as needed. Once you have done that if the iac valve is working then it will be fine for a period of time. If your car still has trouble idling then you may have to replace it. Replacing the iac valve allows the correct amount of air and fuel in to start the engine and keep it idling correctly.

Transmission will not engage forward or reverse until car has warmed up for about 15 minutes?

The transmission may not shift or engage in forward or reverse until the car warmed up for a few reasons. Two examples of why the transmission will not engage is low or no fluid levels or a leak.

How do you stop a 1997 manual transmission Plymouth Breeze from idling high in neutral until you come to a complete stop and then idles down?

Spray down the throttle body outside to clean it & prevent anything from sticking there. Then while the engine is running spray inside intake as long as possible without stalling the engine. This should do it.

What would cause my 2001 sl-1 Saturn to not start until it sits for about two hours after it has been driven?

That type of problem can often be caused by a leaky throttle body injector. If the injector doesn't fully seal, it may leak fuel when the engine is first turned off. Often a little fuel injector cleaner can help with that problem, especially if the injector is just dirty. Always buy fuel where it sells quickly. The stations that sell the most fuel will always have "fresh" fuel for you, and that's even better than buying from the refineries that claim to have special additives that keeps your engine clean. Older fuel tends to be more harmful.

Why is there white smoke coming out of your tractor?

Could be an injector spraying at below the pressure that it should. Or a head gasket. Check your radiator for milky fluid, if not you can determine the bad injector by loosening the nut at the injector line/injector until the sound of the engine changes. The one that does the least change to sound/rpms is the bad one. You can have it tested at your local dealership.

How do you adjust the idle on a 1997 Honda civic?

I have a 97 Hond Accord I just bought and it was idling at 1500 rpm standing still in park. You can adjust the idle by adjusting the throttle cable at the throttle body. There is two nuts on each side of the bracket, loosen both and slide cable until you reach 900 to 1000 rpm range or if you want higher idle adjust it up. If that doesnt fix it check for a vacuum leak. They will also cause your engine to idle higher.
