The BBC do not have the contract for F1 in 2016. SKY (UK) and Channel 4 (UK) have rights to televise. However, Sky can televise 100% whilst Channel 4 have 50% rights (only certain races)
The BBC i has a protocol of show films having been televised on their network for a short time frame afterward. Not all films for contractual reason make it the "i player". You now have to be a UK resident with a TV licence for watching these programmes.
