Best time for interview:

Most important factors of an interview, is when to accept the offer. If you are given days and times that the company is doing interviewed between these days, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday or Friday.

Your first choice should be Thursday, because is almost the last day of the week and you are more likely to get hired, always choose the 11 am-2pm interview, rather the 10am or 4pm.

The second choice is Tuesday, choose the same hours as above. Interviewers tend to be more stable on that day, since they are on the second day of the week.

Your third choice is Wednesday, if Thursday and Tuesday are not available, again choose between the hours of 11am- 2pm.

Your last choice is Monday or Friday. If these are the only dates are available are only Monday or Friday, then try to accept the interview at 11am over the 4pm on Monday or Friday. Your chance of being hired on any of these days shrinks. But if you are desperate then go for it.

Questions can be important in an interview, but the best approach is to focus your preparations on being ready to explain your ideas to the interviewer.

Often you will hear people say that hirers are looking for people who can sell themselves. This is true, but to best understand what exactly this means, it is necessary to put ones self into the shoes of an interviewer...but not just the interviewer, also the CEO of the company and any other important company personnel. Again this is something people say they are looking for when they hire, someone who is up to date and prepared with the latest information on the company. The point is extremely understated, however.

Here's the point. When it comes to these two things, you should be confident that you are heads and shoulders more prepared than anyone with information on the company and it's direction and focus. Within this framework, you should also spend time developing ideas that you believe could be pertinent to the company's situation. Try to take the viewpoint of someone who is already an employee and plug yourself in. Become a doer in the making. It's doers they are really after.

If you follow these guidelines, the questions will flow naturally from your heart.

As for issues about the company, forget about concerns and focus on the positives and on the opportunities ahead for the company you are interviewing with. If you can't find any, you shouldn't be at the interview, honestly. Formulate a plan for getting your point across to the interviewer that you BELIEVE you can make the company better. YOU must believe it first. Finally, try to position yourself in the interview to share your ideas. Don't show off, just be prepared with the facts. If you can't share your ideas, don't be shy to let the interviewer know with your demeanor that you have them.

Oh yes, money and benefits. Make sure you DO NOT bring up money in an interview. Without question, you must know what to expect, and you must be prepared to defend your ground at the appropriate time. However, the compensation issue is an interview killer. Be confident and unafraid that if you decide to go to war for this company, they will pay you what you want. The first one to mention money in an interview loses...it's that simple. As an aside, NEVER take a job until someone has told you how much you will be earning. If they offer you a job, but don't mention the money, politely say "no thankyou" and walk away. The graveyards are full of stressed to death employees who took a job without knowing how much they would be paid. It's disrespectful for a company to offer someone a job without mentioning the salary and benefits. There's really no excuse for them not sending you the information in this day and age. You may even want to request this of a company if they call you on the phone to make an offer. Getting things in writing is a good practice.

To sum it up. Become an absolute beast for gathering information on companies that interest you. This should be the primary focus of your preparation. Focus your efforts to the core of yourself and identify your passions. Let your passions be your guide through the process. Do whatever you have to do to be ready for the interviews you take. Stop at nothing in this regard.

If it's a government job, sorry can't help you there...

The interview process depends on the position you are applying for. If you are applying for sales, they will run a scenario with what you would say if a customer was coming up. They will ask you about previous experience and sales goals. They will ask you why you are interested in the company and the position.

What are five pertinent questions you ask after an interview?

Many people learn everything they need from the interview and have no further questions. If you have anything extra you would like to know about the company, the job, the working conditions, or the salary, then this is the time for you to ask them. You should try not to ask a question that has already been answered, however, as that makes them think you have not paid any attention. If you cannot think of a question, simply smile and say "No," then thank them for the interview. I agree with the previous post and would like to add a recommendation... write a list of questions ahead of time that you'd like answered about the job, and if they aren't answered during the interview, you should definitely ask them with ease. Inquiring about when a decision to fill the position will be made is an example.

Time you had to work with a difficult person?

This is one of the types of question that you may get at an interview; they are intended to get you to talk about yourself in a fairly informal manner. The questions are usually about some aspect of your own life so it is not possible for anyone else to answer them for you. You should think carefully, before attending the interview, about such questions as this so as to be prepared when asked. There are several such questions and there is a great deal of information on the internet and elsewhere about techniques to employ when attending interviews.

How do you get a job interview?

You must first fill out a job application. Once that has been done and submitted, wait a couple days and ring them up asking if they have any questions about my application. This shows great interest on your part about wanting the job. The interview will occur when they call you in to gain more information or meet you personally and have a chance to talk with you. Always dress up for these occassions - suit and tie - even if the job is for sweeping up stables. ========================== ob interviews are always stressful - even for job seekers who have gone on countless interviews. The best way to reduce the stress is to be prepared. Take the time to review the "standard" interview questions you will most likely be asked. Also review sample answers to these typical interview questions. Then take the time to research the company. That way you'll be ready with knowledgeable answers for the job interview questions that specifically relate to the company you are interviewing with.
