The whitetail rut in Louisiana is a prolonged event, however, to cut to the chase, it can be narrowed to the week before Christmas with bucks being on the prowl searching for hot does building to a peak frenzie begining the day after Christmas lasting about four or five days afterwards. This is true for much of south east Louisiana. Be in the woods as much as possible during these two weeks.
According to Mississippi Dept. of Wildlife fishery and parks, the white tailed deer rut in MS. occurs in December. the actual estimated dates will be depending on your area of MS.
