You should take the pills for 7 days to help you remember to take your pills, some of the pills that you take during your period depending on your RX have iron in them, because our iron levels drop when we have our period. You need to take them like their prescribed even if you stop bleeding before their over.
Typically and traditionally, you continue to take one pill per day until the sugar pills are gone, regardless of whether you do or don't have bleeding. When you get to the end of the pack, you start a new pack. This plan is the most economical as you get the largest number of days from a single pack of Birth Control pills.
There are other options. You can start a new pack earlier (but never later!) without any increased risk of pregnancy; doing so may even lower pregnancy risk by shortening the pill-free interval.
The longest time frame I had was 7 days but I was pregnant at the time. I didnt know I was. I guessed I was pregnant when my period came but it was very very light and brown bleeding.
Not necessarily - it could be within the first few days.
Continue taking your pills as normal but perform a pregnancy test.
