Rest your elbows on the same surface as your victim
The jaw-thrust technique is done the same way for a victim of a roadside bombing as it would be for anyone else, and it simply involves moving a person's lower jaw forward in order to open up the airway without having to move the neck, in case you suspect a spinal injury which you do not want to exacerbate. Of course, in the case of a roadside bombing, there would be shrapnel and very likely wounds which may be bleeding profusely, in which case you have to move quickly from making sure the airway is not blocked, and making sure the victim is still breathing and the heart is still beating (and if not, administering CPR) to checking for wounds and bandaging any wounds that are bleeding excessively.
Grasp the angles of the victims lower jaw and lift with both hands, one on each side, displacing the jaw forward and up .Your elbows should rest on the surface where the victim is lying. If the lips close, the lower lip can be opened with your thumb. If mouth-to-mouth is necessary, close the nostrils by placing your cheek against them. The victims head should be carefully supported without tilting it backwards or turning it from side to side. If this is unsuccessful, the head should be tilted back very slightly. The jaw-thrust is the safest approach to opening the airway of a victim who has a possible neck injury because it can be accomplished without extending the neck.

By performing repeated scans over time, much like the frames of a movie, ultrasound can also reveal movement, such as the motions of a fetus. This technique is called real-time ultrasound.
control the C-spine first
Tilting the head back using the head tilt chin lift method will open the airway.

the movement is a freely moveable joint
rest your elbows on the same surface on which the patient is lying
