I would recommend the beast leash. It is by far the best and most versatile product. It can be used as a collar or choke collar and will help you train your dog to walk calmly by your side.
A harness is far better for a dog than a standard dog collar and leash for walking, as the delicate neck muscles cannot be damaged if the dog pulls or you pull the dog. A harness is kinder, more comfortable for a dog and gives the owner better control when walking. A choke collar can be dangerous, especially in the wrong hands and some regard them as inhumane.

Agree with above, if a dog pulls whilst on a dog collar, trachea or spinal damage can occur. The first signs of needing a dog harness are wheezing, coughing and choking whilst walking and pulling on a collar.
(Begin) Hi. To answer your question, I use both. Around the house, I use a collar for my dogs, and I also use a collar for training. (One of my dogs has sensory issues, so she will not budge with a harness, therefore I have to use a collar.) I recommend a harness while walking your dog, so if the dog pulls you will not injure its trachea.

Honestly, it depends on the breed of dog. With poodles, for example, they have very sensitive tracheas, so a collar wouldn't be the most sensible idea. I recommend asking the people you adopt your dog from beforehand. (End)

I agree with the above answer. Using an dog harness is a far better option than using a dog collar, as a harness allows you far better control over your dog (especially dogs and puppies who pull) but the big difference is a harness cannot cause your dog to choke, wheeze, cough or gag for breath, like a collar around the neck does if a dog pulls.

Answer 2I agree with the first answer, but you'll still need a collar for I.D tag if that's what the law requires.I too agree that a puppy harness is best. This is what vets recommend too. You can actually get harnesses that have a ring at the front to attach an I.D. tag onto.
