The year Jesus of Nazareth was Crucified

The Anno Domini system was developed by a monk named Dionysius Exiguus (born in Scythia Minor) in Rome in 525, as an outcome of his work on calculating the date of Passover.

33 AD is a commonly accepted date. In this year it was Thursday the 14th of Abib (now called "Nisan") as prescribed by Exodus 12:6.

33AD , (AD in English means in the year of our Lord)

In the month of Abib ( see exodus 34:18 for Abib) on the Biblical calender

(later the name of this month changed to "Nisan" after the Babalonian captivity and destruction of the First Temple see:Jeremiah 39 for the destruction and Esther 3:7 for the name change of "Abib" to "Nisan" in stripture), Note: both names of this month are acceptable and commonly used...

this month usually falls between the Last half of March, First half of April) on (God's) biblical calendar which is still in use today in Israel by Torah observant Jews.

Biblical months consisted of only 30 days, the date that Jesus and the Disciples celebrated the Passover Seder (now called by early Church "Tradition" Mark 7:8 The Lord's Supper) was a Wednesday (Nissan 13 evening), Since many Jewish people were still living outside of Israel (since the Babylonian exile), there was an ordinance that the Passover could be observed with the first 24 hours before the actual Day of Passover until the last 24 hours after the actual day of Passover and still accepted as Kosher (or Fulfilling the Law requirements for Passover)this is due to time zone differences.Jesus and His Disciples (as Jews living in Israel)Celebrated the Passover Seder meal Prior to the actual time of the traditional Passover The following Day (Nisan 14) he was Crucified during Passover in fulfillment of the Pictures / Prophecies hidden about the Messiah in the Passover Rituals PLEASE READ:Matthew 5:17 , Hebrews 10:1

Please Note: the passover date changes every year, it is based on a Lunar calender, Passover falls on a Full Moon and is not based on a Solar or Julian calender as used in America.

The exact date is highly disputed, but most scholars believe it was either on Passover day, or the day after in the year 30 AD.
