When did John Lennon last visit the UK?

I think it was on January 6th 1971, before daparting via Miami to Japan with Yoko. So John showed Yoko the place where he grew up before she showed him the place where she grew up.

This is based on the diary note for January 6 in Keith Badhams Beatles after the breakup. It reads as follows:

"Driven by their personal assistant Anthony Fawcett, John and Yoko head to Liverpool docks in order to depart from England by boat en route to Japan, arriving firstly in Miami, Florida. Prior to their departure and still in their white Rolls Royce, John gives Yoko a guided tour of his Liverpool hometown, which includes his original home and many historical sites relating to The Beatles, including the Cavern Club in Mathew Street."

On August 31 of that year John Lennon moved to New York, never to return to Britain again. To my knowledge he didnt return to Liverpool any moore times before then.

It is often thought that John Lennon's last public performance was on November 28, 1974, when he performed three songs with Elton John at Madison Square Garden. However, his final performance before a live audience was actually on April 18, 1975, when he appeared at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel to perform on "A Salute to Sir Lew Grade", supported by Dog Soldier. On this television special, Lennon performed "Slipping and Sliding" and "Stand By Me", both from his latest release, and his most popular solo composition, "Imagine".
