No one knows when cheese was invented, as it predates written records. Cheese either occurred naturally, or was created accidentally, and one possibility is that storing milk in animal stomachs may have created cheese due to the curdling agent (rennet) in the tissue. Another way cheese can be made is by the addition of vinegar or lemon juice to milk products. In any event, the various aged cheeses are made possible in cooler climates, where less salt is needed to prevent spoilage.

There's obviously no exact date, as the cheesecake probably evolved from various cheese-based tarts and cakes over hundreds of years.

Here is a brief history:

Cato the Elder's De Agri Cultura includes recipes for two cakes for religious uses: libum and placenta. Of the two placenta is most like modern cheesecakes having a crust that is separately prepared and baked. (This would be around 200 BC)

Records of the Countess of Leicester mention "cheese for tarts" in 1265; the earliest English recipe is found in the Forme of Cury (14th century).

Source(s):The Forme of Cury is an extensive recipe collection of the 14th century whose author is given as "the chief Master Cooks of King Richard II". The modern name was given to it by Samuel Pegge, who published an edition of it in 1791. This name has since come into usage for almost all versions of the original manuscript. It is the best-known medieval guide to cooking.

Joe Lawson in Louisville KY in late 1970's at Pizza Kino. He worked there and a customer asked for cheese to be put on his toasted bread, he complied. Thereafter Joe went to Pizza Hut and asked for this item, they stated "they do not do this". He persuaded them to put some mozzarella cheese and melt it on his darn bread! They agreed finally and the next time Joe entered Pizza Hut it was on the menu!

The exact origins of cheese making are unknown, and estimates range from around 8000 BCE (when sheep were domesticated) to around 3000 BCE. Credit for the discovery most likely goes to nomadic Turkic tribes in Central Asia, around the same time that they developed yogurt, or to people in the Middle East. A common tale about the discovery of cheese tells of an Arab nomad carrying milk across the desert in a container made from an animal's stomach, only to discover the milk had been separated into curd and whey by the rennet from the stomach.

Folktales aside, cheese likely began as a way of preserving soured and curdled milk through pressing and salting, with rennet introduced later--- perhaps when someone noticed that cheese made in an animal stomach produced more solid and better-textured curds. The earliest archaeological evidence of cheese making has been found in Egyptian tomb murals, dating to about 2300 BCE. The earliest cheeses would likely have been quite sour and salty, similar in texture to rustic cottage cheese or feta.

It is impossible to get to the exact date as to when cheese was invented. History has, it was the the middle east where cheese was first used long back as 6000 BC. The people of ancient Egypt also made cheese and stored them in skin bags back in 2000 BC. These bags were from animal stomach. It was not just the middle east where cheese was consumed, evidences also prove it was used in different places. In Europe and the near east also people consumed cheese. religious books also prove the people of that time made cheese. In America, Cheese was made of goat milk. There was huge demand for cheese ever since in America. In New York, the first mass production took place in the year 1851.
