Music was discovered back in 1800.
Further Information
Music, played, dates a little farther back another 2200 years ... actually it was in 4000 BC (BCE) when recorded history tells us that Harps and Flutes played in Egypt.
The earliest known written music was in 800 BC (BCE)
The first organ, called a Hydraulis, was invented in 465 BC by a man named Cestibius. It played but one note and was often carried into battle as its sound would frighten the enemy away!!

Music was first developed by slaves, who would sing to make the most of their lives. Their songs were usually sad and told stories of their lives as slaves. This slowly evolved into Rhythm and Blues.
Much more correct answer
Music has been around since pre-historic times. It is most likely that the earliest songs were religious chants.
Answer
Human music has a long and complex history. It may predate language (and certainly predates the written word) and is found in every known culture, past and present, varying wildly between times and places.
A culture's music is influenced by all other aspects of that culture, including social and economic organization, climate, and access to technology. The emotions and ideas that music expresses, the situations that music is played and listened to in, and the attitudes toward music players and composers all vary between regions and periods.
"Music history" is the distinct subfield of musicology and history which studies the history of music theory.

Hard to improve on this one, but will add that according to Yehudi Menuhin on an old PBS series, the first stringed instrument was probably a plucked African bow - without the arrow. The pitch could be altered by changing the tension of the single string, just as on a modern stringed instrument. Percussion and rhythmic structure may have started as an imitation of the human heart beat, heard by the unborn infant for months. Prettysharp.
Musical Origins
Music originates from a long time ago. It is not know exactly how long music has been around, but it may have originated from people who used natural percussion instruments. This basically means anything which created a noise when it was beat. As time went on, and people had more appreciation for this new 'music', their minds were more able to identify tunes, and music started to become more advanced.
Answer
Music was not "discovered." It is a basic human expression that is inate and has existed since God put Adam and Eve on the earth.
Answer
Impossible to answer. Music has existed probably for as long as humans have existed. More than likely, the voice and various drumming methods were the first expressions of music. This information is lost in time.
