Vehicles based on electric power sources have existed since the late nineteenth century during which there were more electric vehicles, including trolleys and trains, than there were gasoline-powered cars. The application of electricity as a power source for trains occurred about 1885 and progressed so successfully as a mass transit that by 1900 there was hope that all systems of city and suburban traffic would become electric. As with the steam railroads before them, the electric railways came to be seen as the future of transportation.

AnswerIn 1903 when Henry Ford started the Ford motor company. AnswerNow I can tell it exactly:1883; when Carl Benz, inventor of the automobile with internal-combusting engine, founded 'Benz & Cie. Rheinische Gasmotorenfabrik Mannheim' (Germany). It became the biggest automobile factory in the world in 1900.
First American automobile factory was opened in 1896 by the Duryea Brothers in Springfield, Mass. Output in the first year were 13 Duryea Motor Wagons.

In 1896, 13 Dureyas cars were made in a factory in Springfield, Mass. These were the very first examples of mass-produced cars.
The first mass produced cars from an assembly line was the Curved Dash Oldsmobile. They were produced from 1901-1907. Henry Ford's Model T was introduced in 1908 for the 1909 model year.
The first fully mass-produced cars are generally reckoned to be the Ford Models 'A' and 'T' , but it was by no means the first commercially-produced car. Nor were Ford cars the first mass-produced items: the principles were laid down in 19C defence manufacture but with an ancestry in 18C clock-making.
Electric Ride On Cars were invented for the first time in 1842. They were produced in the late 19th and early 20th century but were not mass produced for the public until recently.
I had no idea there were cars being mass produced INSIDE us! I wonder if this interferes with our internal organs....
The first mass-produced mechanical calculator was made by Charles Xavier Thomas, around 1920. The first mass-produced electronic calculator was probably the Sharp QT-8D, mass-produced in 1969.

Yes. Mass producing cars is not the problem. The fuel for fuel cells is too expensive, so far.
