A king room in a hotel is defined as a room with a single king size bed. A king size bed is usually 76 inches wide by 80 inches long.
No King bedding is not suitable for a California-sized king bed. A California-Sized king bed is considerably larger than the traditional king sized bed and therefor requires larger bedding to fit.
The difference is the width of the bed. The king sized bed is bigger then the queen sized bed. The king size headboard will be 16 inches wider then the queen sized boards.
a king sized bed is a bed greater than a queen size but basically the largest of all the beds, sheets, and matresses
A super king sized bed is the largest bed size one can buy. In North America, the king-sized bed measures 76 inches by 80 inches, making it almost as wide as it is long.
That is okay to do as it will cover the whole bed.
A California King is slightly longer, at 84 inches, than a regular king, which is 80 inches long.

no
King or Queen sized.
A king size will fit a queen with some extra hanging off the sides of the bed. This might be an advantage if you share the bed with a cover stealer.
Queen sized doonas/duvets/bedspreads/quilts/eiderdowns are sized to suit queen sized beds. Using a size larger, such as a King size on a queen size bed, may reduce the incidence of the duvet tug-of-war, but will not fit as neatly on the bed.
