Top Cat came our around l96l-62 by Hanna-Barbera. Sadly it was one of the first TV Cartoons to have homosexual angles, hinted at even int he theme song, later watered down to the ( Most effectual) the original line ran, Top Cat!- The Intellectual, Top Cat- The Homosexual! close friends get to call him T.C. provided it:s with dignity.. top cat.. etc. Snagglepuss was also gay and seemed to be a take-off on Liberace. there were no girls in the Top Cat lineup. (other gay cartoons came in different time eras and oddly females are rare in animal cartoons with some exceptions.
