Before Jesus descended into Heaven, he informed his disciples (the remaining 11 apostles) and others of His following that the Holy Spirit would be upon them, enlightening them as to Gods plan and their evangelistic work. A concise explanation may be found in 'The Acts of the Apostles, Chapter 2'

During Christ's ministry on Earth, He was full of the Holy Spirit of God and these powers and characteristics could be seen in Jesus' works. The Apostles and others did not receive the gift of the Holy Spirit until Pentecost, 31 AD as is noted in Acts 2 and afterwards. This was the promised Comforter Jesus mentioned in John chapters 14 to 16. All who are begotten of God, receiving His Holy Spirit in this life are referred to as the firstfruits or the elect, awaiting their resurrection to being 'born again' of spirit in the God Family.

Indeed, relatively few up to this Feast of Pentecost had received the gift of the Holy Spirit within them. Even since the 1st Pentecost to the end of the reign of man, few more will be called by the Father and given His Spirit (John 6:44;65). However, during the Millennial Rule and post 2nd Resurrection judgement process, most everyone will have the opportunity to repent, be baptized and receive the Holy Spirit of God - becoming full members of the God Family.

The same way the disciples lived in the 1st Century - character and moral wise that is. To be a 'disciple' is to be an 'imitator' of Jesus. With God's Holy Spirit guiding the repentant and baptized disciple, he/she would live a life putting God's Law first and foremost in their lives.

What are some Old Testament prophecies about Jesus' teaching about the Holy Spirit?

AnswerThere are actually no Old Testament prophecies about Jesus teaching about the Holy Ghost. However, Burton L. Mack (Who Wrote the New Testament) does offer a way of finding the prophecies you need. There is a trick that seems to come naturally when studying the Bible and which Mack sees happen all the time, in the classrooms of the School of Theology at Claremont. At first the study of a text may not seem to support a traditional Christian conviction, or the answer one hopes to find in the Bible. But with a little ingenuity, one can set up the comparison again with other emphases and make the answer come out right. If the first answer does not appear to be helpful, one can look for another answer to the same question, until the right answer appears. The Old Testament is full of just the right prophecies if you know how to do this.
