Unfortunately, a generic form is not available as of September 22, 2010. I believe the WikiAnswers "yes" refers to Suboxone's manufacturer Reckitt Pharmaceuticals FDA approval of a film based delivery system of the drug.

The cost is so high and we are having a hard time making ends meet.
I was just prescribed a generic form of Subutex containing only Buprenorphine because it is much more affordable than Brand name Suboxone. I have never shot up opiates in the past so I don't know if this generic would be prescribed to those with a history of shooting up due to the lack of Naloxone. The pills are white and round with one side blank and the other side imprinted 54 411. Hope this helps some.

There is no name for generic Suboxone bacause there are no available generic brands for it yet in Canada or the USA. I hear they're working on some in Australia where the drug was first released but no info on anything in reach. Hope this was helpful, Suboxone is very expensive but it works wonders. Much better than Methadone but Methadone is a much cheaper option, only $6 a day in comparison to Suboxone which is anywhere from $20- $30 depending on where it is dispensed from.

Around $200 for 30 eight-milligram doses. Not counting what the doctor relieves you of, of course. There is a generic buprenorphine available for about half that, but few doctors will prescribe it. I'm sure it has nothing to do with pressure from Reckett-Benckiser.
