When will the Fox series 24 resume production?

According to a March 6, 2008 article in The Hollywood Reporter, 24 is set to resume production in April. However, the seventh season will not be airing in the near future. Instead, a 2 hour seventh season prequel will air in fall of 2008 to bridge the two year gap between seasons. The seventh season itself will return in January 2009.
