When will this hip-hop phase go away or at least take a step back to something new?

Hip hop as a music has been around since the late 70's. Do you really think its still just a phase?

I dont think there is goin to come anything new. atleast anything that is goin to be big as hip hop, techno, and all that. But i really hope so.

But i think the hiphop phase has alredy gone away or taken a step back,it aint that big that it was before. isnt more like punk these days or rock?

Dude thats like asking how will the war in iraq end. nobody knows. Seeing how popular hip hop is I doubt it will end. And just so you know hip hop isnt a phase its a music catagory.

hip hop isnt like disco. its not something that can just end. hip hop is one of the most popular music types for young people so it will not end. It may change however. like in the 80's there was old skool rap and now the sound of the music is alot different.

The whole point of hip-hop is that is evolves - it's a lot more about a culture than it is about a beat, and that culture is youth. There are many branches of hip hop, and if you have trouble accessing some of the harder, rap varieties, you could probably chill with some smooth instrumental stuff.
