The mama cat will also be very uncomfortable when trying to lie on her side. Sometimes, they also yowl as if they were in pain and try to get you to follow them to a dark place... like under the dresser or in the back of the closet. If it is the first time for the kitty, she may have a need for you to be there. Sometimes they will go around in circles until the kitten starts to appear and then the mama starts to clean them. But sometimes the kitten needs to be placed under mama's nose so she can clean them. Sometimes, after she has had one, she will get into the going around in circles thing that she does not realize she is walking on the first one, so you may need to move the baby out of her way but where she can still see it. After the baby is born but before mother cat removes the embryonic bag; when the baby comes out, there should be a thin cord that attaches the baby to some afterbirth, which mama should basically chew the cord and eat the afterbirth. If you can, fix her up a box in a dark place AWAY from noise and kids, cause it can make her nervous.
A good sign is a drop in temperature. If the cat's temperature drops significantly, it is likely she will deliver the kittens within 24 hours. Meowing, becoming restless and wanting constant comfort and attention from the owner are also signs, these can start a few days before birth. There is often a discharge that precedes birthing, but the Queen will often clean this up quickly.
The Queen may also spend more time in the birthing box (this should be in a warm and quiet room). Some owners will confine the cat to this room a day or so before the birth, while some cats will naturally use the birthing box. Never let a cat give birth outside, as it is dangerous for both the mother and the kittens and it is usually difficult to keep an eye on them. Many cats do prefer their owner to be present during the birth, and it is considered ideal to be on-hand for any possible problems.
Usually around 63 days

All animals give birth. Animals that give live births, like human, are called mammals.
There are a few reasons why the mother cat could be acting strange after giving birth. The mother cats hormones are not the same as before she was pregnant, she could still be trying to figure out how to care for her brood, or she could have an infection.
A cat giving birth is called 'kitting'.
Watch it.

definitely not, a cat should only bleed a little while giving birth
When the cat looks overly distressed... Obviously, it's giving birth, but there isn't a way of communicating with them, so you'll just have to hope for the best.
Birthing is called delivery; the kits or kittens are the result of a cat delivering its young.
If you love cats! :)
