You would shut off water in the last few weeks of autumn before the first frosts of winter to prevent a frozen pipe.
It would shrink. (>'-')>
Carnations would suffer from the cold. So if your winter is cold, then the carnation will die eventually if you stay outside long enough.
It depends what you have in your hutch. But if you have rabbits you should be fine. They are very hardy. We used to raise them, and they would be outside all winter long, here in Pennsylvania, without an issue. I would just add extra hay and make sure water doesn't freeze or give new water often.
you can by sticking it outside you can by sticking it outside
This is not true.
I see no reason why you would insulate them. When you close your pool for winter you will purge (empty) your pump and pipes. The water in the pool would freeze long before the water will in the pipes under ground.
The frost has killed the tender plants in the garden
Plants cant grow during winter because the water in their cells would freeze. The frozen water would rupture the cell wall and therefore destroying the plant.
My cat has done this before. When my cat did this She needed some food and water. My cat is Not an outside cat but i know about them she may need to go outside! Or she is in pain.
I would say in the evning. or weekeneds. and fall/ winter because alot of kids are outside in the summer.
When I grew up in Fairbanks, Alaska, we would go outside when it was below -60 degrees Fahrenheit, and toss a glass of hot water into the air. If cold enough, the water droplets would crystallize in the air before hitting the snow. If not quite cold enough, water would hit the ground, and freeze in seconds.
