When you get your braces do they hurt?

Getting braces hurts when you tighten them every month and it hurts the first week you get them. Other than that they dont. You Dont even feel them afterwards. Every month you will have to go and get them tightened and new color but it only hurts for the first 3days. Afterwards you dont even feel them. I had braces on for 4 years and had alot of experience! I recommend you to eat soup, yogurt, and milk, for the first few days. If they hurt badly those 2 days then take a pain killer and put something warm on your outside of the mouth (lower cheek) and lay in bed on top of the braces! It really helps. And/or put some gel on them. Brush everytime you eat something for at least 5minutes!!!!! Really important trust me!!!! And trust me, after you take them off after 2 or 3 years you will be amazed what the treatment has done.

When they're putting them on then NO but you won't like the yukky stuff they put it tastes nasty. The first week then YES it will hurt ALOT the first week you get them. After that it doesn't hurt at all. But when you get them tightened then they hurt for only that one day. Good luck if your getting them, the results are amazing! :)

when getting braces on! Yes, and no! Yes, because when you first get them It will hurt a little bit! But after a while it goes away! And if u have crooked teeth like me it hurts a whole lot more!

while getting the braces on at the dentist office it dosen't hurt because they num your mouth, but after you get your braces on and your at home it may hurt a little but just like a pinch, so there's nothing really to worry about, it's all going to be ok.

When you are at the orthodontist and they are putting on your braces they do you hurt but after a few hours it you will feel a little pain because your tooth is shifting and remember to not drink cold water or else it will titan your braces and that will hurt and when you drink warm water your braces will loosen up

No it does not hurt when you get them on but before you go to bed u should take pain re-liver , and then in the morning after you get your braces put on. Also they do hurt when they tit-en them every so often, so again you should take pain re liver before you go to bed and in the morning. You should also brush your teeth very well otherwise you will have white markers on your teeth where the bracket once was, and trust me on that one who wants white marks on their teeth. If they want you to have a retainer after you get your braces off you need to take care of it by cleaning it with a toothbrush and toothpaste.

I just recently got mine (July 27th, 2011) and they dont hurt really bad to the point you will have to cry. They dont start hurting until 3 hours after you got them. For some people they might hurt really bad but you can take pain medicine if it comes to that point. They wont hurt the whole time you got them they will only hurt for a few days after you get them...!!

I don't know cause I'm mabel batting them when I'm 12 cause I'm 8. I heard that most people said it hurts a lot in the first time nd I'm very scared so see ya.
