If you have the flu then it is better to go 24 hours without eating, drink plenty of water and rest. The next day eat chicken soup, soda crackers (unsalted) and when you gain your strength a little add a chicken sandwich to along with your soup. Jello, puddings, etc., are fine if made with water.

If you can't eat well from either your cold or flu, then you can get an electrolyte drink from your local pharmacist which will level your system off.

The cold is a virus, so orange juice and other liquids containing vitamin C should be consumed to aid the strength of your immune system in combating the virus.
